QUESTION FROM: Liza in AZ

“When you are putting an item on a menu or for a special and it’s specifically made in house, do you say ‘homemade’ or ‘made in-house’? I don’t like the sound or look of “homemade”. How do you describe it to sound as modern and appetizing as possible?”

HH ANSWER:

The more modern way is to use your restaurant’s name...or even better yet: Initials. e.g., the Lobster Benedict at Island Creek Oyster Bar is served on an “ICOB english muffin”.
